ARTvest was set up to allow its members to build something they couldn't build on their own - a high quality contemporary art collection. By pooling their funds, members can build a collection that will rival many private and institutional collections across the UK.
ARTvest members will be able to select, present, discuss and vote on the acquisition of work throughout the year. Individual collectors, with the same budget, would only be able to make one or two similar buying decisions every three years.
All work acquired by ARTvest is available for rotation through each member’s home. This will allow members to experience and “live with” an unparalleled range of contemporary work - members will have access to more than 60 different pieces of work over a three year period. Individual collectors, over the same period, would have access to only one or two pieces.
ARTvest will allow you to meet other collectors in your city who are just as passionate about contemporary work as you are. You will be able to meet, select, propose and debate the purchase of nearly 60 different pieces of contemporary art over a three year period.
ARTvest will provide its members with access to some of the leading experts in the field of contemporary art in the UK today. By presenting and discussing work with ARTvest’s advisory panel, members will develop their own collecting skills, including learning how to identify high quality work, where to find it, what price to pay for it and how to look after it. As an individual collector you could not have access to such a pool of advisors.
At the end of the scheme all syndicate members will receive at least two pieces of contemporary work or the cash equivalent. This puts the members in exactly the same position they would have been in if they had not joined the syndicate but used their funds to purchase similar work through the traditional gallery structure.
