"Providing a new generation of collectors with a unique and affordable way of building, sharing and part-owning high quality collections of contemporary visual art."
ARTvest is a Glasgow based, contemporary art buying syndicate, set up to provide a new generation of collectors and art enthusiasts with a unique and affordable way of building, sharing and part-owning high quality collections of contemporary art.
ARTvest was set up out of frustration with the limited collecting opportunities available to individuals who are passionate about contemporary art, but who do not have either the funds or the expertise to build a high quality collection of contemporary work on their own.
ARTvest will be launched in June 2006 and will have a maximum of 25 members. Members will be invited to pay a certain amount each year into the syndicate over a three year period and the pooled funds will be used to buy more than 60 pieces of contemporary work. At the end of the three years, all the works will be redistributed among the syndicate's members from collective ownership to private ownership. Members (See How it Works for more details.)
By pooling their funds, ARTvest members will not only be able to propose, select and buy contemporary art all year round, but they will also have regular access to some of the country’s leading experts in contemporary art, including well known dealers, curators, academics, and critics. Members will also have access to huge variety of work, with over 60 different pieces available for display in their homes / offices. (See Members’ Benefits for more details.)
